Once again were the people of this entire community saddened by the news received, Sunday morning, of the death of another highly re spected and esteemed pioneer citi izen of Cottage Grove. Mr Oscar F Knox, who, from the earliest days of Cottage Grove’ s ex- istanco, has been closely identified with its progress and upbuilding, passed peacefully away at bis new home in Eugene, at 10 a m, Sunday, Aug 11, after an illness of some two weeks from Pleuro-pnoumonia. He was surrounded by bis cherished, grief-stricken family during his last hours with the exception of his eld est daughter, Mamie, of Cheney, Wash., and who was hastening to his bedside, and arrived only a few hoars after his death. Monday afternoon the keart-bre- keu family arrived hero with the corpse, and accompanied by a large number o f friends and relatives pro ceeded to the cemetery, where, after a brief burial service, at tho grave the remains were laid away to rest by the side o f his father, tho late S. B.
