That is ju st what I) 15 Hill th in ks— but neither really o b jects to the incipient boomlct.- that their friends try to start. T o day the people o f Cuttag* G rove are railed upon to decide the question ns to whether the city is to have am ple water for fire protec tion and for household and irriga tion purposes. We only wish to call attention to tho fact that the present system has but one fault, and, that is it is entirely inadequate in capacity. All it needs is e x te n sion o f it»'cap a bilities to supply the c ity ’s needs. Vote for that e.xten sion by a vote for tho bonds. W e have been handed ■ d< ij> liv e circular gotten up by the Kn gene Em igration Gouiuiitteo for dis tribution in the Fast, advertising the recourses of Lane County. The effort is n very creditable one, as far as it goer, but the com m ittee evidently got tired after devoting a Ittlc over four o f the eight page, to E u gene and tlm Blue Kivei Mines and quit the jo b before they had fairly com m enced. This won derful effort was printed by tin Eugene Register and was intended for general distribution, no doubt, by one or two real estate dealers in Eugene. But it is not worth while for the people in the southern or western part o f the county to fool with it, for the space devoted to their sections o f tho county, consisis i:, being included in the general sui mary o f taxable valuations at the present time. There are some val uable figures given iu tho pamphlet such ns the elevation o f the county, the numlier nnd kind o f seasons our distance from Portland, us measured from Eugene etc. We presume that the writers were lalmr- ing under the erroneous impression that the county was divided some years ago and that its boundaries were reduced to that o f Eugene, Springfield and the Blue River Mines.
