Monday afternoon, Jerry Atkinson
who lives . at Lorane some twelve
mile-4 watt df this place, had the
misfnrdnm Jo have his home dee-
troyed,by fiVe. As rear os can be
learned', Mrs. Atkinson started a fire
in the kitchen stove and went out
side for a time. In Homo manner,
probably by sparks lodging in
the moss 00 tbe roof, the house was
set on fire. Mr. Atkiuson. who was
working near by; also a boy near
the achoolhotiae discovered the fire
and gave the alarm. The teacher
aud the larger scholars and neigh-
bora succeeded in saving nearly all
the household gouda, but the build
ing was com| letely deetroyed. It
is stated chat there was a policy in
the Grange 0/ fTOO.
