P. It. R. The bid of Ambrose-Birdsall for the improvement of East 10th street, from Main to Monroe, was accepted. The recorder was instructed to draw a warrant on the library fund in favor of the library board, for $232.99. Ordinance No. 405, regulating motor vehicles on the streets of Cottage Grove, was placed on its second and third reading and passed. This ordinance provides that all motor vehicles must use muf flers; must keep to the right side of the street; that in turning to the right vehicles must keep close to the right curb, but in turning to the left the vehicle must run beyond the center of the street before turning; no vehicle shall run at a greater speed than 15 miles per hour; no motor vehicle shall be operated by a person un der sixteen years of age; no ma chine shall be left standing with any part of its machinery run ning; all machines must be pro vided with brakes, lights, horn or bell; no motor vehicle shall turn on Main street between the S. P. railroad track and Fifth street, except at street intersec tions; no vehicle shall be allowed to stand for more than thirty minutes on Main street, between the S. P. railroad and the Coast Fork bridge; one vehicle passing another going in the same direc tion must keep to the left, giving one blast of horn or stroke of bell as a signal. The city engineer was instruct ed to make a survey and plat of street to connect Columbia Court and East Main street. The recorder was instructed to draw a warrant in favor of Dr. Scaif, medical expert in the Stev ens case. The marshal was instructed to call on property owners delin quent on street assessments for payment, and report at next meeting. Council then adjourned.
