By a clever pre-ar rangement the guests, with a few exceptions, arrayed them selves as school children and met at the home o f Rev. and Mrs. Aldrich, going from there in a body and thereby completely sur prising Miss Silsby, who with sweet "Priscilla” at her side re ceived the "small” guests. The beautiful Silsby home was fra grant with decorations of Purple Lilacs, pink Roses and Dogwood blossoms, while an immense May basket, filled with pink Carna tions and ferns, the gift of the opera company to Miss Silsby, occupied a conspicuous place and was greatly admired. An im promptu program was given by the “ children” which consisted of songs, readings, duets, etc., recalling memories o f childhood days to many of the guests. Juvenile games such as "ring around the rosy” "fruit basket” etc. added to the fun. Partners for a delicious two course lun cheon were chosen by matching quotations from the opera. Miss Silsby was assisted in serving by her mother, Mrs. Helen Silsby, Mrs. George Kerr and Mrs. H. A. Miller. Songs and jests made the luncheon hour a merry one. There were about fifty guests present who enjoyed Miss Silsby’s hospitality and who assured her at a late hour that the evening had been one of unalloyed pleas ure. The Royal Neighbors Club met at the home of Mrs. Ernest I^ock- wood Tuesday afternoon. There were 15 members present, in cluding Mrs. Howard Hess, of Roseburg. Invited guests were Mesdames C. Kidd, Delme Hem enway, C. Kerr, G. B. Pitcher, Paul Markley, and Mrs. Roy Ro maine, o f Portland. A very pleasant afternoon was spent in needlework and conversation, after which refreshments were served, consisting o f sandwiches, ice cream, cake and coffee. Mrs. Lockwood was assisted in serv ing by Miss Ursula Lockwood. The house was tastefully deco rated with bouquets of beautiful red roses. Members of the Rebekah social club were fortunate in having Mrs. Nellie Johnson for a host ess last Friday afternoon. Those present enjoyed to the utmost the pleasant hours of needlework and conversation, and a dainty luncheon was served. Mrs. O. L. Nichols and Mrs. Herbert Eakin will entertain the Constellation Club at the home of the former on Thursday after noon. The David Griggs and Dr. F. L.
