L ast week the L ea d e r p u b lis h ­
ed an editorial from th e O reg on ian
a n d P endleton E a s t O reg o n ian iu
w h ich was set forth th e objections
of those p ap ers to th e new propos­
ed bill p roviding for th e division
of counties an d creation of new
counties. A t the tim e this adverse
co m m ent ap p e a re d this co u n ty d i ­
vision bill w as incom plete a n d h as
since been c h a n g e d to conform to th e
idea as expressed iu those big dailies
iu every particu lar. L ater proofs of
th e bill w hich h a v e been s u b m it­
ted to the P o rtla n d d ailies h ave
met with th eir ind orsem en t an d no
fu rther ob jections to it will a p p ear
in those p apers, in fact, it is stated
upon good au th o rity th a t th ey will
hereafter supixirt this new co u n ty
division bill.

b o u n d volum e of several h u n d re d
p a g e s co n ta in in g m u c h in teresting
