Pierce, the Leader job printer, gave up going to F.ugene to work t.n the G uard, to accept a position with his former employer, W . C. Conner at Coquille, to which place he went Friday. Jt seems th a t the golden pheas ant is ta k in g advantage of the legal liberties granted him by the last legislature. They are becom ing num erous and can be often seen in yards in the outskirts of the city. W. C. Counter form ally an at tom ey of this city but who is now traveling for the Sunset M agazine’ is now in Pocatello Idaho. Mr. Counter and wife plan on visiting the Yellow Slone Park and then on to K ansas their former home. About thirty F.pworth Lea guers met at th e home of Miss Jessie Beog on F riday evening of last week and spent a social evening.
