H e will probably send circular letters to all school principals suggesting programmes, including scattering flowers on graves of the soldier dead and on the w aters as symbol ical of decorating the graves of the sailor dead. He will also urge on the suggestion of the N ational association, th at everyone wear evergreen on Memorial day. T he Cartw right Concert Com pany, under the personal direction of D avis Brothers of Chicago, will appear at the arm ory in th is city M onday evening, April 24, and th a t the entertainm ent will be a rare treat to all who attend is a foregoue conclusion. T h e pro gram s given are artistic an d re fined and and yet they contain enough of the hum orous and des criptive to please immensely the popular audience. T he fun is cleau and contagious aud the a l most phenom enal ability of the artists in heavier roles has gained for them a n ational reputation of genuine m erit in their chosen field of literary and m usical work. Mr. C artw right studied for six years with the best voice teachers of Chicago, devoting a m ajor portion of his tim e to study with the w orld’s famous vocalist, Signor A rlhuro M arescalchi, one of the greatest baritones of his day. Such a course of training has em i nently fitted Mr. C artright for the position he now occupies, at the head of this com pany. Chas.
