land, they chose three delegates to rep­
resent them at Mn. Pankhurst’s lec­
ture In Carnegie hall recently. They
were Kiri Matao, widow o^ an old
Maori chief; Waapi, a young political
leader and a prohibitionist, and Drana,
who is 21, and oast her vote f6r the
Conservatives at the last election. Eng­
lishmen in New Zealand have extend­
ed to women all the rights they them­
selves have, and that Mrs. Pankhurst
and the English suffragettes of all

What had happened to disturb the

tleman?
In his pocket, almost burning the
lining, was this letter:

surprised to receive this letter from
one who, up to the present. Is a per­
fect stranger to you. During her visit
to London I have seen much of your
