In accordance with the action of the m erchants in announcing th a t their stores^ will be closed at noon S aturday the barbers have entered into a sim ilar agreement and the three shops will be closed all afternoon S aturday. Christmas Cantata. T he M. F.. S unday school will give an interesting C hristm as c a n ta ta at the arm ory hall S aturday evening. A n adm ission fee of 10 cents will be charged to assist the S ab b ath school in its work. It will be well worth the price. A very interesting C hristm as tree entertainm ent will be held at the C hristian church Friday evening to w hich all m em bers of the church and their friends are in vited. T he entertainm ent given at the armory last Friday evening by the C hristian E ndeavor Society of the C hristian church assisted by Mrs. W. A. H em em vay’s class in an “ old tim e recital” was largely at tended and a very creditable en tertainm ent. In the hum orous farce comedy “ His Old Sweet h ea rts” F.d 1’inuerty as the “ Bach elo r," sustained the role well as did the young ladies in the cast also. T h e closing song in this sketch w as very tuneful and well sung. T h e farce comedy “ An Interrupted Proposal” provoked m uch m errim ent and the ch ar acters therein were all ably sus tained. Mrs. If emeu w ay’s “ Old Tim e R ecital’’ was a real treat and some very unique characters and costum es were introduced. T a k ing it altogether there were none in attendance who did not feel th at the entertainm ent was well worth the price of adm ission.
