The loss of a small bridge on River street near the site of the old Cottage Grove hotel, the displacement of a few side-walks, crosswalks and fences was the ex tent of the damage in Cottage Grove. On Row river some farm fences were washed out aud one newly constructed bridge on Sharp’s creek, recently built by Ilogate and Cunningham was carried a- way. Some of the newly plowed and seeded ground in the bottom opposite Saginaw, on the Ilardiug aud Kennedy farms, being culti vated by E. C. Conner and Beidler Bros, was washed out. However, taken altogether, the damage in this vicinity was comparatively slight and by Wednesday the water had nearly all receded to the river and creek channels and old Sol shone forth brightly.
