At this, the close of the first year of the Xeaber under
¡the present management, the publishers take this opportu
nity to extend hearty thanks to its many patrons and friends
for their liberal patronage during the past year and we sol
icit, and hope to continue to merit, your good will and gen
erous support throughout the forthcoming year.
The Xcaber plant has been greatly improved, the pa
per enlarged and changed from a weekly to a semi-weekly
and the circulation of the paper has nearly doubled in the
past year. For all of this w e are duly thankful, but antici-*
pate that the new year will bring about greater improve
ments in the paper and plant, in the progress and develop
ment of Cottage Grove and vicinity, and renewed activity
in our varied industries. In conclusion we wish one and
all a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous New Year

enough to deafen to his oar the proper spirit.
