POSTER— Jessie Alta, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Poster of Silk Creek, was born at Riverton, Coos county, Ore gon, Feb. 10, 1897, and died at her home Monday July (>, 1908 o f Spinal Meningitis, aged 11 years, 4 months and 26 days. Alta was a sweet, loving and thoughtful little girl and during her short life did all she could for the happiness of her playmates and all those aliout her. She was loved by the entire community and was a favorite among her friends, who will miss her greatly. She had already attained to a 7th grade education and was an ex ceptionally bright child. She was a member of the Silk Creek Meth odist Sunday school and took an active part in it. The little body was laid in its last resting place in the Silk Creek cemetery, July 7, 1908, the fun eral services t>eing conducted by Rev. Fred M. Waehlte, pastor of the Silk Creek Methodist church.
