In A ugust 1852 Mr. G ray located a donation claim in Linn county n ear Halsey, w hich he de veloped into a nice farm and owned up till the tim e of his death. Two sons died on this farm an d Mrs. G ray died here in 1875 an d he m arried Mrs. Frances E. Detwiler in 1877 and three children were born to them , one of whom is still living, Mrs. II. K. Metcalf of this city. Tw o of Mr. G ra y ’s child ren survive him, Mrs. .Mice Cozier of Bellingham, W ash., an d How ard G ray of M ontana. C. G. Gray, a son of Mrs. G ray, com pletes the list of surviving ch ild ren. For 17 years, or up till within four years ago, Mr. G ray was en gaged in the drug business at H al sey, when he retired an d cam e to this city a year and a h alf ago to reside, h av in g purchased a little home on W all street. Mr. G ray was a g ran d old pioneer gentle m an, had been active in Oregon affairs an d was held iu the highest esteem by all who knew him. Fun eral services were conducted T hursday at Lone Pine cemetery near H alsey an d ‘was largely a t tended by old neighbors and friends. N A V E—At the Presbyterian m ause in th is city W ednesday m orning. May 1.1, 1908, Mrs. Nave, wife of Dr. II. L. Nave, pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city, of paralysis, aged 59 years. Florence C. Deining was born in Indiana. Jan. 18, 1849 and for nine years of her life was engaged iu school teaching. She was united in m arriage with Rev. Henry L. Nave, |u n e 12. 1879. and four children were born to them. Mark I)., a student of Columbia Law school. New York city; Henry I). professor of history in W alla Wal la high school; Chas. C. a lawyer of New York city and Mary G race who died at the age of 15 years in 1900. She was a devout and faith ful Christian lady loved and hon ored by all. F uneral services were conducted T hursday from the Pres byterian church by Rev. II. M. Mount of Eugene who was an old Indiana friend of th e family, in tenneut iu the Shields cemetery. Rev. Nave and wife cam e here nearly a year ago and tile many friends of the family extend h eart felt sym pathy to the liereaved h u s band and sons. Obituary Notice. S W E E T — At her home near W alk er, A nn E lizabeth Sweet, aged 82 years, 8 m ouths and 11 days, of pneum onia. Deceased was l>orn iu Koshoctou, Ohio, A ugust 19, 1825. In 1848 she was united in m arriage with Richard W edding, em igrating to Solano County, California, in 1852, where her husband died. Iu tile autum n of 1-894 his widow moved to Eugene, Oregon. Here June 19 1897, she was m arried to Charles Bradford Sweet, later moving to W alker, where she has resided nearly forty years, living a pure consistent life and hearing- with patience the hardships of the pio neer. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, one son, one daughter and several g ran d ch ild ren. Funeral services were conducted at the W alker church, by the Rev.
