They say that 47 rattlers, mostly good sized ones, have been killed in a den discovered on the Jerry l’ ijtes place recently. The killing occurred on several different days when the weather was warm and bright and the snakes came out of their den to take a sun hath. On Sunday last, fourteen were killed, says the Guard. Up to the time this den was lo cated and w-atched no oue in the vicinity had any idea that there were any rattlesnakes to speak of in the neighborhood and the large number killed to date has occas ioned much surprise.
