New Steam Laundry.
f
As was noted in the Leader some *
weeks ago, Ashland parties had de
clared their intention to install a
first class steam laundry plant in
this city and had purchased ma
chinery for this purpose. This
week J. W . Baker of At bland, *
brother of the Roseburg laundry- •fi)
man spent several days in this city
f
making final arrangements for the
f
establishment of u steam laundry
here. After looking over the city
he decided on the I. O. O. F. build
ing formerly occupied by the Pacific
Timber Co’s store as about as con
veniently urranged and centrally lo
cated place as he could rent for the
purpose and accordingly secured a
lease on the building aud the resi
dence adjoining for a uumber of
years, in which to install the latin-
drv and move his household goods.
The plant will be operated by a
5 -horse power electric motor and
is guaranteed to turn out first
class work, at reasonable prices.
Mr. Baker expects to have the
plant installed and ready for opera
tions by March 1st. The Leader
wishes the new enterprise success.

thereafter attracted attention and it
was discovered that iu somewise
the hack of her clothing had
caught on fire and before aid
reached her she was horribly
burned. Dr. Kitne was hastily
summoned and is doing all iu his
power to relieve the patients suffer

for her recovery.
