Mrs. B. S. C. Oliver, of G12 Ma

“ It is now nearly two years since T
have had any occasion to use D oan’s

had my share of kidney trouble,
and if there is anything that cans' s
more misery than a disordered con

with backache, tired and listless
feeling and restlessness, I have yet
to experience it.
Doan’s Kidney
Pills, which I procured at a drug

An Intimate friend of Senator W. A. dorsed by people you know.
R O Y A L N E IG H B O R S — Meet 2nd
Clark of Montana related this story of
the cupper king at the HolTninn House
the other day:
"Senator Clark does not pose ns a
wit, but there are times when he gets
off n good thing. He fully appreciates,
too, the weakues ;os of human nature
One of tils secretaries is somewhat ad
dicted to the Sowing bowl Having to
tulk with the senator one day on s me
business matter after Imbibing too
freely, be washed his monlli carefully
with a cleansing fluid, ate some cloves,
several pieces of orange peel and then
sprinkled lilmsolf over with perfume.
Convinced flint li • hail . r ulh ate I all the
whisky aroma, he then walked Into Ills
private office. As soon ns he had ap
proached the senator close enough to
explnin certain llgures. Mr. Clark
threw himself back In Ills chair, situ
tlulzed Ills secret.iry keenly, sniffed tile
air and said with Just the shadow of n
smile on his face:
'“ Really, .M r.---- , It was quite un
necessary lo turn yourself Into n scent
bottle before coming to me. I prefer
the odor of the whisky.’ ” New York
