PUSH OREGON TO THE FRONT A N E A S Y W A Y TO A D V E R T IS E T H E S T A T E And Tell Our Eastern Friends All About ths Superior Opportunities We Possess. On April 20tb last the Oregonian published a special industrial edi tion devoted exclusively to the e x ploitation o f Oregon. It probably contained more special and miscel laneous ioformatian about Oregon than any one publication that has ever b e e n issu e d . It is peculiarly useful and v a lu a b le to the home- seeker, b e ca u se it gives the latest and most reliable information about so many different subjects that the bomeseeker is naturally interested in. A lm o s t every department of in dustry is s p e c ia liz e d , and both de- acripti c and statistical information of a h ig h ly v a lu ab le character is giveu e x te n s iv e ly a n d in entertain ing form, ing form. Residents of Oregon who know its advantages as compared with the congested and depleted East, and who still have friends back there whom they would like to see here enjoying the good things of this favored state, can aid in a splendid work now without cost and very little effort. If you think your friends would be interested in knowing more about Oregon and might eventually become a valuable citizen, send his name and address to the general passenger agent of the Oregon Railway & Navigation Company or .Southern Pacific at Portland, and a copy of this special edition, with a complete summary of tin several subjects treated, care fully indexed, will be mailed to him promptly. In this manner you may no the means not only of doing your friend a good turn, but o f helping to stimulate the growth and pros perity of Oregon. Don’ t forget that commencing September 1st uud continuing daily for two months, tickets will bo on sale at almost every railroad station in the East to all points in Oregon nnd the Northwest at what has come to be popularly known as ‘ ‘colonist rates.” These rates are the cheap est general long distance rates ever established and enable one to reach Oregon from any part ot the United Statos at but a tritle more than one cent a mile. They are the greatest incentive (o colonization and pro gressive home building o f any known agency, and if the restless, dissatisfied resident ot the East is made io know before-hand the ad- vantagtR lie can enjoy here, the problem is solved, and the star of empire will continue to move stead ily westward Now is tho time to spread the gospel o f Oregon, so that it may be heard and heeded by the time the rate goes i m o effect. Send one name or two, or a dozen and you will be exerting a worthy intlueuoe toword the upbuilding of our state Send them to your nearest Southern Pncific agent or to \Vm. McMurray, General Passenger Agent. Portland, Oregon. Jimmy Britt, the pugilist “ Na tive Son” of California, is now oil the way to he the champion light weight fighter of the world, by winning the tweutv-round contest with Rattling Nelson at San Fran cisco, last week. Ha will now be matched wiMi Gans, and if bo de feats hirn can wear the laurels of the clinmp/on. W O M EN S WOES. MARKET REPORT. Cottage Grove Women are Finding Relief at Last (Prices quoted are w h o le sa le .) It doc.» seem that women have more than a fair share o f the aches and paius that afflict humanity; they must “ keep u p ,” must attend to duties in spite of constantly acb ing backs, or headaches, dizzy spells, bearing down pains; they must stoop over, when to stoop means torture. They must walk and bend and work with racking pains and many aches from kidney ills. Kidneys cause more suffering than any other organ of the body. Keep the kidneys well and health is easily maintained. Read of a remedy for kidneys only that helps and cures the kidneys and is en dorsed by people you know. Mrs. If. S. C. Oliver, of 012 Ma ple street. Pendleton, Ore., says: “ It is now nearly two years since I have had any occasion to use Doan’s Kidney Pills. Prior to that time I had my share of kidney trouble, and if there is anything that causes more misery than a disordered con dition of the kidneys, accompanied with backache, tired and listless feeling and restlessness, I have yet. to experience it. Doan’ s Kidney Pills, which I procured at a drug tore, brought me entire freedom from the pains, aches and lameness, regulated the action of the kidneys and restored ambition to me so that I could get around and attend to my duties without discomfort. I do now and always will recommend Doan’s Kidney Pills to those suffer ing from kidney ailment in any form.” For sale by all dealers. Price 50 ets- Foster-Milburn Co. Buffalo, N.
