Recommended and sold by Benson's Pharmacy. A t the Mountain Lion mine near Grants Pass last week it was found that a lot of high grade free milling ore that was fairly shot with gold bad been thrown on the dump. Needless to say the dump was thoroughly sorted at once. It was found that the ore had come from a place in the tunnel where no pay ore was expei ted at ail. The vein that was struck is now being opened up. The gold was em bedded in a quartz so did not show up until it had been rained upon. The Eugeno Guard’s Special edition is out, aud in many respects is a good advertisement to Lane county, although the Guard was very unfortunate in getting it o»t. Its new Campbell two-revolution pre^s, only recently installed, was broken all to pieces while running on the special, so that a good part of it had to be printed on the Rog- lAtcr press. The Guard is now fig uring on a new press, and a differ ent make as well. Their special writer is blamed for many ol the rather too flowery, and incorrect writeups that were scattered through the paper, but wh<-n special men take up such work, they cannot be expected to be as accurate as people at home.
