is the fault of the man that did the
assessing, mid that lie could not

ment until alter the board of equal­

W e have heard of
seveml complaints. Some ol them
are just, probably a number are
not. T h e work of a tax assessor is
not a siuecure, mid Ihey are liable
as well asotlieiM to make mistakes,
I t is certain that the most of people
would rather pay taxes on about
one oiiu-hundri th -d the value of
their properly than its actual value
and will so turn it in, but some of
us, at least want to be lioneat. 1 lie
problem of I he assessor is to get a
fair valuation o il all properly, and
the present attempt of the assessor
to get all in turn in an assessment
on the acltial cash value ol prop
eity , and then lower the iate of
taxes is a good endeavor and should
be well met by the people.
