Lloyd, the well known mining engineer, who is now oper ating in Bohemia. He is a man of well established reputation, whose judgment in mining circles is uu questioned. Again he is a man who has unbounded faith in the fu ture of Bohemia and Cottage Grove. He has come quietly and with no blast of trumpets and has gone steadily to work developing bis properties and advertising the dis trict. The good judgment of the gentleman has been demonstrated to us not only by the recommendation advanced by those who have oper ated with him elsewhere, but through the showing made upon his property now under rapid de velopment, which already shows substantial prospects. Again we find ourselves viewing marvelously rich specimens from the Vesuvius mine in Bohemia. The samples brought out are al most beyond the most sanguine ex pectations. This is the mine that one Park, now operating in Blue river, bonded and who failed to make his bond good. As soon as he found that some of his ama tuer work ou the property did not pay and his money was not forth coming it is alleged that he run not only the famous Vesuvius prop erty down but spoke disparagingly of the district. Not later than three weeks ago, it in said that he admitted that he made a mistake in bis judgment on the Stock Harlow Brush property (which he also bonded at the same time and alter wards threw up, and upon which the owners made a wonderful strike running as high as $249,000 to the ton,) but that he wouldn't take the Vesuvius as a gift. Again the Nugget wishes to remind Mr. Park that bis judgment is no better in the one case than in the other, and that if the comments alleged to have been made by him are true, be bas also displayed poor judg ment in choosing his language. 1 A very disagreeable and disgust ing feature of Cottage Grove hood- lumism was apparent at the enter tainment at Martin's Hall last Saturday mgnt.
