MooNuoirr I'ahtv. On last Friday evening about thirty couple of young people gathered together in the wooded patch that lies along the river, just above the new foot bridge at the upper end of town. Games, songs, rollicking and diuicing on the greensward made the fleeting hours pass all to quick. The liiiiht was till that could be wished. The moon rose full and beautiful about y o'clock, and its rays against the trees made them cast many flicker ing shadows, under cover of which thc ardent swains and lasses found ample opportunity to bill and coo and vow eternal friendship. As thc stream swept past the bank they sat upon, many air castles were builded, some to iall as time goes on, and some to endure for all time. .May the friendships cement ed continue long to remind the par ticipants of the joys of the moon light party. Hoys Who I'i.ay. Last Saturday evening four young men were trying their bauds at a 4-ball game of billiards in Smith's parlors, and they furnished much amusement and merrymeiit for the onlookers by their knowl edge of the game and wise icmarks and their subsequent execution. One boy played as though he had to get some, another played for general results in a don't-care sort of way, another played thin shots and always hit where he missed before, and then came the tired boy whose feet were heavy and who closed his eves when he pointed the cue. They were all good natured and enjoyed the play and at the same time provided an excellent life study. Chanok'i) Hands. W3 IS IT RIGHT For an Editor to Recommend Pat ent Medicines? From Svlvan Valley News, Brevrad; N. C. It may be a question whether the ediior of a newspaper has the right to publicly recommend any of the various proprietary medicines which flood the market, yet as a preventa tive of suffering we feel it a duty to say a good word for Chamber lain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. We have used this medicine in our family for twenty year and have always found it re liable. In many cases a dose of this remedy would save hours of suffering while a physician is awaited. We do not believe in de pending implicitly on any medicine for a cure, but we do believe that if a bottle of Chamberlain'.s Diarrhoeai n-L ':i 1.-I.T u-.jti ii. j i 1 j.enieuy were K.cpi uu lJiuuiauu au ministered at the inceptipji. ,of an attack much sufferirigmight be avoided and in very many cases the presence of a physician 'would not be required.
