Chiropractor Health, Happiness & Wellness A guide to local businesses committed to helping our community thrive Walmart Wellness Day focuses on immunizations Oregonians can visit lo- cal participating Walmart pharmacies on Sept. 25 to access a variety of free and affordable immuniza- tions, from the COVID-19 vaccine to the flu shot and more. As the country continues to make health and safety a top priority in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and with the anticipation of a busy flu season, Walmart is focused on providing ac- cessible and affordable im- munizations and vaccines for customers. Walmart’s quarterly Wellness Day on Satur- day, Sept. 25 will turn into a special immunization event in more than 4,700 pharmacies across the country. Customers can walk in to receive a variety of immu- nizations from COVID-19 to flu. The company’s goal is to make access easy and convenient. Insurance is not required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, which is available at no cost, and other vaccines are covered under most major insurance plans. During this one-day event, families can get all the below in one location: Flu shots and no-cost COVID-19 vaccines Affordable immuniza- tions, including measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), HPV, tetanus, whooping cough (TDAP) and more at pharmacies nationwide. There are buildings for- merly used by the hotel on its northern side, for instance, that are in dete- riorating or substandard conditions. One building has been stripped down to just skeletal remains while another has been hidden behind so much garden and bush debris that the hotel rooms are inaccessible. The release also lists some key problems, name- ly: that the hotel is not operating in a sustainable manner due to a substan- tial decline in the hotel and tourist industry; increased hotel competition in the region; insufficient modern amenities; several substan- dard or blighted buildings; and maintenance of the 6.5-acre garden, seasonal pool and hot tub is too high of an operational cost to be financially viable. To complete this project, the new owners will likely have to go through an ap- proval process, including applying for permits. This process will go to through Planning Commission and possibly the Cottage Grove City Council for approv- al, where there will public hearings. “So, there’s a public pro- cess to come depending on what they plan to do,” said Public Works and Develop- ment Director Stewart. “It sounds like they’re going to make some changes, so that will likely be required.” Chiropractor Counseling & Mental Health South Lane Mental Health Serving Cottage Grove Since 1988 • Outpatient Counseling for Children, Adults & Couples • Psychiatric Medication Management • Crisis Assistance 541-942-2850 • 541-942-3939 • www.slmh.org Dental Health Counseling & Mental Health Delaying going to the Dentist?
