She is so creative and committed to her interests and enthusiasm for art. Macey has an incredible eye for detail and really invests her time in developing her draw- ings, designs, and stories. She is also fairly experienced at using technology, and has found ways within this period of distance learning to continue working on developing her art and her communication skills, such as recently scanning and emailing hand-drawings that she did while online to share back with one of her teachers! Bella is always on time to class, works hard to con- nect with her teacher and classmates, has a positive vibe each class, strives for success in her classwork, and is even running for Vice President of her seventh-grade class. Noticing that she and her classmates needed the social interaction outside of class, she has worked with Mrs. Ross and Mr. Kilmer to get hosted Lunch Zoom meetings for she and her class- mates so they can talk and eat like they would normally here at school. Future Goals: I don’t know what I want to do yet because there are a lot of things that seem really cool but I want to go to college - like Stanford or Yale and move out before I am 19. Hobbies: I like to read, art and play with my dog - Sami. Cottage Covered Grove Sentinel Stacy’s Bridge 116 N. 6th . Even with BAD INTERNET he and his family make an effort to share pictures and make calls, emails, to connect and com- municate with Ms. Beck about what they are doing, what is working and what is challeng- ing (which really helps Ms. Beck adjust her practice to meet student needs). When in class he is and was always respectful and caring and stays focused and on task. He is a pleasure to work with and even during this challenging time, stays highly motivated to work and learn! YONCALLA HIGH SCHOOL MAKAYLA HOLMES Why he/she was nominated: Makayla was nominated for stu- dent of the month for her amazing turnaround from last year. Makayla has exceled in distance learning to start the year and is doing extremely well in all her classes. Makayla has asked for extra credit in several classes even though she already had an A. When asked why she wanted extra credit when she already has an A she responded, “I am trying to get 100% in all my classes”. This atti- tude was why I nominated Makayla for student of the month. She is being recognized for her work in other classes by other teachers as well. Future Goals: Graduate High School and go to Harvard or Berk- ley. Want to be a Lawyer because I am good at argument. I also would like to be a veterinarian. Hobbies: Draw and play basketball . North Douglas Fire & Rescue 531 South Cedar St. Drain, OR 97435
