Baker was born and raised in Massachusetts. His initial plan in life was to become a doctor, but after receiving his bachelor’s in biology, he said he felt like he was being led into ministry. Over the last 12-plus years, he has served in churches all over the United States, including Alaska, Pennsylvania and Texas before moving to Cot- tage Grove. Baker is married to Amy, a proud Texan and virtual fourth-grade math teach- er. They will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniver- sary in March and have two children: their son Gabe and daughter Jordan. Baker hopes to be a bless- Annual Frontier Heritage Fair Feb. 15-16 The 28th annual Fron- tier Heritage Fair will be held at the Lane Coun- ty Events Center/Fair- grounds Auditorium, 796 W. 13th Ave., in Eugene, on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15 and 16. The focus of the fair is pre-1898 America, in- cluding Mountain Men Fur Trade, Civil War and Old West. The event features ar- tifacts and replicas of the period on display and for sale. Included is a special exhibit of Oregon prehis- tory and displays repre- senting the Hudson’s Bay Company, historic Fort Umpqua at Elkton, the Applegate Trail, North- west Coast Native art and a one-room pioneer schoolhouse with hands- on features for all ages. There will be kids’ activities and demon- strations of of historic skills including spin- ning, weaving, quilting, wood-working, horn carving and flintknap- ping, along with perfor- mances by the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers. Show times are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is payable at the entrance and kids 12 and under are free.
