He was born on April 11, 1941 in Murphy, NC to parents Wil- liam Clarence and Dora (Ke- phart) Arms. He graduated from Murphy High School. Billy worked for more than 25 years as a shovel operator for Georgia Pacific. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed spending time with his hound dogs. Billy and his partner Cheryl Clark were to- gether for 33 years. His is sur- vived by his daughters Jeannie Grimsley, Becky Mason, and Cathy Graham; his brothers Max (Karen) Arms and Tom- my (Ella Mae) Arms, and his sister Glinda (Dewey) Hill; as well as his 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Billy was proceeded in death by his son Joe Arms, and great grand- sons Skyler and Braxton. He was born in Santa Barbara, CA to parents George and Shirley (Miller) Dempsey on Febru- ary 21, 1958 and graduated from CA Duarte High School in 1976. Stephen was in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980, working in tele- Courtney Dempsey; brother Michael Dempsey; and 1 soon to arrive grandchild. Stephen was preceded in death by his son Andrew Dempsey and a granddaughter. Susan Marion Martin of Dorena, OR, died on August 19, 2019 at the age of 84. She was born in Hood River, OR on December 3, 1934 to par- ents, Ephriam Ashley and Marion Ninnette (Holling- head) Miller. She graduated from the Hood River High School. Susan was an Assem- bly worker for General Motors, Epson Computers, and Rose- burg Lumber. She enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, making cookies, and cleaning fl oors. In the 1970’s she rode dirt bikes. She was a member of Good Samaritan Church in Dorena. She married Ernest Samuel Martin on March 11, 2006 in Woodburn, OR. She is survived by her husband, Sam; son, Stan (Joanne) Richardson; son, Howard (Dawn) Rich- ardson; son, Daniel (Barbara) Richardson; stepdaughters, Sheryl Shumway and Brenda Speas; stepson, Ernie Martin; 14 grandchildren, and numer- ous great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Good Samaritan C hurch. A Graveside will be at Sears Cemetery on August 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Arrange- ments are in the care of Smith- Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
