Week in review: Elkton, Yoncalla score victories at Coastal Classic meet Elkton Track and Field Competing at the Coast- al Classic last Th ursday, the Elks recorded a string of vic- tories. In the 100 and 200, the Elks went one-two with wins from Margaret Byle in both while Kassie Yeaney took second. Byle also went on to win the 400. In the fi eld events, Elk- ton’s Sadie Olson took fi rst in shot put and discus while fi nishing third in javelin. the Eagles went 0-6. Th e team lost 20-0 to Oakland on Tuesday, 26-6 on the road against Riddle on Wednes- day before a double-header against Lowell the Red Dev- ils score their fi rst wins of the season with 15-11 and 12-9 victories. On Saturday against one-loss Central Linn, Yoncalla fell 32-6 and 16-1. Th e team was outscored 121-33 on the week. Yoncalla/Elkton Soft ball In a busy week of games, extra innings on Tuesday as Glide won at home 3-2 be- fore heading into the week- end. On Saturday the Wildcats 10-runned the Elks with a 13-1 and 10-0 win. Glide recorded three out-of-the- park home runs in game one aft er not having hit a home run all season.
