COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL • FEBRUARY 27, 2019 • 3C Dancing the night away in North Douglas Recently, North Douglas hosted its annual Father-Daughter Dance as a fundrasier for the North Douglas School District's music program. Approximately 80 people showed up, taking the opportunity to have a little fun following the Feb. 24 snowstorm that put the area into a deep freeze. Each and every day, rain or shine, they are responsible for taking down the Ameri- can and Oregon flags. They KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL Wyatt is an observant stu- dent who puts effective effort into all his work and offers keen insights. have learned how to properly fold and store the flags each night and on rainy days, how to safely lay them out to dry. They are also responsible for letting the office know of any maintenance needs for the flag pole. He is a wonderful stu- dent to have in the class- room. His determination and perseverance have helped him grow tremendously! He is a great example for his peers, always using PAX hands and being respectful. Jordynn Owens, a 5th grader at Latham, is a model student. She puts her best effort into everything she does. Jordynn is kind, courteous, and re- spectful to teachers and fellow students. She is always willing to help others. It is a pleasure to have Jordynn in class. Gabe shows his perseverance by always giving his best effort on assignments and not being afraid to ask questions when he doesn’t understand something. Even when he struggles with a new lesson, he never gives up and keeps working at it until he figures it out. Hobbies: Video games, trampoline, sledding for now, eating, and playing with his dog. Future Goals: I want to learn how to do a double back flip on the trampoline, visit my friends in California, and graduate from high school. I don’t know what I want to do after high school yet. I’ll probably go to UCC first, then transfer to a different college. Gabe is the son of Tara Kness and Rickey Marquez.
