Feb. 5 Feb. 7 • Drug activity was re- ported on Grimes Road. • Offi cers responded to a welfare check on a driv- er who had been “slumped over the wheel for quite a • A complainant reported a new transient camp set up across the railroad tracks from her. A male subject was yelling and stabbing things into the ground. Of- fi cers talked to the subject and he said he would be moving on. Feb. 8 Feb. 6 • Extra patrols were re- quested by a manager at the industrial park, citing problems with people doing “cookies” in the parking lot when it snows. • A male subject was re- ported walking down Main Street, yelling and hitting himself in the head. Feb. 10 • A K9 was requested to locate a suspect who had bailed out of their vehicle during a pursuit. Th e sus- pect was taken into custody by the Lane County Sheriff ’s Offi ce. • A traffi c cone appeared to be lit by an unknown ac- celerant on a bike path be- hind Safeway. • A female suspect was reported gathering an arm- load of items and walking out of a business. Feb. 11 • A Main Street resident reported multiple people outside being extremely loud, running up and down the sidewalk screaming. Upon arrival, no people or noises were found. She was born on March 13, 1945 in Port- land, OR to parents, Samuel A. and Grace M. (Dennis) Grav- elle. Kathy graduated from Drain High School and made her career working for the State of Oregon for both the Department of Motor Vehicles later transferring to Adult and Family Ser- vices. Kathy was a faithful and devoted member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed games, playing Bingo, crafts and music. Kathy played piano, organ and accordion. Kathy loved bible study and being involved with the Baptist Church in Eugene. Kathy is survived by her sister, Karen Leslie-Johnson, Creswell, OR; brother, Lance Gravelle and wife Clara, Chesapeake, VA; and brother, Joel Gravelle and wife Kathy, Creswell, OR. Bob graduat- ed from Cottage Grove High School and Air Force Offi cers School. He was stationed in Corsica, while serving in WWII as an Air Force Captain. He was head sawyer at Woodard Mill and Weyerhaeuser where he retired. Bob enjoyed fi shing, hunting, and gardening. He especially enjoyed dahlias. Bob was a kind and humble man of few words, always willing to help those in need. He came home safely after serving as an Air Force Captain in WWII. Before Bob and his two brothers were off to serve in the war, his mother Marion Wright Woolcott, made Bible covers for them cut out of the wool coat that saved her life as a Titanic survivor. She believed that it was divine interven- tion that all three of her sons returned home safely after serving as offi cers in WWII. That coat is now on display at the Nation- al Geographic Museum. Bob’s legacy lives on in his family, loved ones and the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed. Bob was a member of the Elks lodge and Masons. And has many military medals. Bob is survived by his spouse Ellie Palmer of Cottage Grove, OR; son Steven (Sue) Woolcott of Eugene, OR; grandsons Brandon and Jeffrey Woolcott of Eu- gene, OR; granddaughter Tiffanie Woocott of Eugene, OR; and 4 great-grandchildren. More information can be found at www.lisafraga- la.com. Alan Don Carncross 1944-2018 Alan Don Carncross known affection- ately as “Wizard” passed on December 21, 2018. He had many roles during his brief period on this side: Brother, uncle, great uncle, father, grandfather and friend to many. Alan lived life to its fullest even though he suffered chronic pain from a serious auto accident in 1969. He radiated happiness and was always concerned about his family and friends alike. Alan was born April 13, 1944 in Kenosha, WI to Don Carncross and Pauline Hengst. After his mother passed in 1945, Alan and his father moved to Oregon. Alan went to high school in Waldport but graduated from Cot- tage Grove High School with the Class of 1962. He enjoyed ev- HU\WKLQJIURPKXQWLQJDQGÀVKLQJWRÁ\LQJNLWHVRQWKH2UHJRQ Coast. He loved his 38’ boat “The Three Seas” that took him throughout Southeastern Alaska. A few weeks prior to passing he was quoted “Why fear death, when you’re born for this last adventure, look forward to it, it’s my last time to see this side.” Alan is survived by his sister, Donna Rich, Juneau, AK, brother Charles Carncross, Oregon, his children, Carolyn Casey, Don- ald DenAdel, Pauline Escobar and Stephen Williams as well as a niece, nephew, great nephews and great niece. Lucille McCrady, 1931-2019 Lucille McCrady, 87 years, passed away peacefully on Fri- day, January 25, 2019 in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Lucille was born on November 8, 1931 in Red Deer, Alberta Canada. Her parents were Victor and Marie (Eritsland) Stratton. She married Richard McCrady August 22, 1953 in Walker, Oregon in the Little White Church on the Hill and were togeth- er for over 65 wonderful years. Besides being a Homemaker, Lucille was a Bookkeeper and a store owner of the Mode O’ Day dress shop in Cottage Grove and was awarded Best Sales Representative for Mode O’ Day Company. The award includ- ed recognition of high yearly sales and a trip to Disneyland with her daughter Jayne. She enjoyed sewing clothes for the kids, UHDGLQJÁRZHUJDUGHQLQJFHUDPLFVFRDVWDQGIDPLO\WULSVDQG watching “Murder She Wrote” and her favorite TV personality 0HUY*ULIÀQ Lucille was a member of the Cottage Grove Motorcycle Club, Boots and Sandals Square Dance Club, Bowling Leagues, South Lane Cruisers Club, Red Hat Society, Breast Cancer Sur- vivors Group and Chamber of Commerce. She was a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader and later on received an ap- preciation award from the Wester Rivers Girl Scout Council in 1974. She is survived by her husband, Richard, Daughters: Judy McCrady (Kenny), Janet Clark (Gary), Jayne Scoggin (Cary) and son Louie McCrady (Kitty); Grandchildren: Heather Nich- ols-Smith (Kelvin), Heidi Kimm (Anderson), Penn Sylvain (Claire), Jared Scoggin, Ty Scoggin (Jillian) and Caylan Mc- Crady; Great Grandchildren: Kaneesha Nichols-Smith (Tlaloc) and Kyshan Nichols-Smith; Brothers: Douglas & Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Marie, brothers Victor and David and sisters Julia and Lillian. A memorial gathering will be set at a later date.
