MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE AFFORDABLY When you need insurance, you need people too. Call today (541) 942-0555. ust before Christmas, I walked into our pharmacy to pick up my 14-year-old cat, Terry’s, insulin prescription. Terry is diabetic and needs twice a day injections. His insulin usually costs $298, so when I went to pay for the prescription the cashier said it was $99. Stunned, I asked her if there was a mistake. She looked back at her computer and verifi ed, “Yes. It is correct. You have paid over $200 before, but someone has put in discounts for you.” Shocked, I asked her who had added the discount. A short, male, on-call pharmacist who I had never seen before, piped up and said he had done it. Th e cashier added, “Th e discounts are in your account from now on.” I was overwhelmed and could hardly breathe. I love my cat. We are retired and I'm being told that we only need to pay this new amount from now on for his prescription. It was an early Christmas miracle! Emotions of awe and gratitude built. I thanked everyone behind the counter for the early Christmas gift . Th ey all smiled and I went out to my car. You would think that was enough shock for one day, but here is what happened next: When I turned on my car the “Sirius-ly Sinatra” Channel was playing; but this time it wasn’t Ol’ Blue Eyes, but an unknown man with a deep voice singing the prayer, “Our Father.” What? How can this be? I was surprised because the sta- WE LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN WE WORK IN “WE MAKE SHIFT HAPPEN!” www.automotivespecialties.biz PayneWest.com/Cottage-Grove DUSTIN TULLAR & RUSS OWENS 541-942-8022 • COTTAGE GROVE Terry the “Miracle Cat” tion never plays prayers, only songs. Th e man sang every word of the prayer during my two-mile drive home. I parked and just before I turned off the engine, the man sang the last word, “Amen.” I was tearing up, overfl owing with gratitude. Curious, I looked up the playlist for the channel and it list- ed another song, not the prayer. How was it possible to have heard a strange man singing “Our Father?” I realized that indeed, it was angel music. Th e last time I heard angel music was 30 years ago. Th is is the second time this has happened. I’m still in awe with what happened and why me? Th e ex- perience gave me confi rmation that there are other spirits in another realm; and if we believe in them, they are there to guide us and help us. Th ey always show up when we need them the most. I feel so blessed. It is nice to know that God and the Angels are looking out for me and Terry’s health... Tips: • During cold-dark winter days, for your pet’s and your safety, buy a blinking light at pet stores or bike shops. Th e lights are purr-fect for walking in the dark. Hook the light- weight device on your pet's collar and your coat’s zipper. Readers’ dogs also wear these lights so they can be seen in the backyard. • When traveling with a pet, know that pet carriers can pop open during a crash. A microchip is the best way to have your lost pet identifi ed as collars and ID tags can get lost in the confusion. • When your yard/driveway/roof are covered in slippery moss, sprinkle baking soda onto it and within two days the moss begins to dry up. (Th e baking soda destroys the moss down through its roots.) And best of all, it is nontoxic to pets and humans! Also, you can speed the demise of resistant weeds by pouring boiling water over their leaves and roots. Th is al-so boils their nearby seeds. Be sure your pets are safe- ly contained before doing so, of course!
