COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL • NOVEMBER 14, 2018 • 7A Cottage Grove Ranger Station moving to new location Th e offi ce for the Cottage Grove Ranger District will be moved three miles southeast to a new offi ce on the Dorena Genetic Resource Center grounds during the week of Nov. 26 with an estimated completion date of Nov. 30. Th e new address will be: 34963 Shoreview Drive, Cottage Grove, OR 97424. Th e phone 541-767-5000, will remain. Th e agency will continue to lease warehouse space at the current loca- tion until fi nal construction is com- plete at the new site in order to meet the facility needs of the ranger dis- trict’s wildland fi re fi ghting module. Th e change in offi ce location from a leased facility to an owned facility is a cost-saving measure. “Th is move will save the District a great deal of money as it reduces leasing costs. Th e overall size of our organization has downsized over the past years, and now we simply require less space,” said District Ranger K.C. Briggs. “Th is will allow us to place valuable resources into other need- ed programs and to establish a closer working relationship with the Dorena Genetic Resource Center.” Sales and services will be suspended the week of the move and phone and email communications will be incon- sistent as we transition to a new sys- tem. However, Christmas tree tags will be available at Killion’s Market at 33399 Row River Rd. in Cottage Grove. Other forest permits can be pur- chased at the Umpqua National Forest offi ces. Passes and maps can be pur- chased at any FS offi ce or on line. For more information about the Umpqua National Forest, contact 541- 957-3200 or visit www.fs.usday.gov/ umpqua or Umpqua NF on Facebook. The Cottage Grove Ranger Station will begin the move to its new lo- cation at 34963 Shoreview Dr. on Nov. 26, with an expected comple- tion date of Nov. 30.
