Winnie is survived by daugh- ter, Gaylen (Spencer) Leuenberger of Cot- tage Grove; daughter, Virginia (Spencer) Toliver of Cottage Grove; daughter, Judy (Spencer) Walsh of Alton, IL; son, Tim- othy Spencer of Hen- derson, NV; daugh- ter, Charlene (Carey) Albers of Henderson, NV; brother, Billy Gilbreth of Roswell, GA; brother, Ted Gil- breth of Des Moines, IA; 19 grandchil- dren; 27 great-grand- children; and seven great-great-grandchil- dren. She was preced- ed in death by her hus- band, Charles Carey; son, Martin Spencer; and granddaughter, Lisa Davis. Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contri- butions may be made to Signature Hospice in Eugene. Arrange- ments in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Fu- neral Chapel in Cot- tage Grove. Cat/Skidder logger for Allen & Gibbons. He enjoyed hunting and fi shing, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed being with his grand- kids and great- grand- kids. He raced fl at track motorcycle in the 1960’s. Robert married Theresa Knight, and they later divorced. He married Caroll A. Gillespie on July 5, 1974. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Pe- terson of Springfi eld; son, Robert W. “Bob” Casto (wife Andrea) of’ Cottage Grove; son, Jeff Casto (wife Traci) of Creswell; son, Brian Casto of Creswell; brother, Lar- ry Casto of Creswell; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroll Casto and for- mer wife Theresa. A Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at IOOF Lorane Ceme- tery in Lorane, OR. Ar- rangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cot- tage Grove. Verna Noreen Maready passed away on April 22, 2018. Born in Ione, Wash- ington to Harris and Verna (Hoisington) Wetzler, on May 26, 1935. Verna earned her GED and married Ellsworth Tullar in September of 1953 in Verna Maready 1935-2018 Reno, Nevada. Ver- na worked as a cook, waitress and bartender before she retired. She is survived by her four children Sandy (Wood- ward), Jay (Tullar), Darrell (Maready) and Don (Antram), nine grandchildren and sev- en great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ellsworth and her sib- lings Neva Perry, Peg- gy Stratton and Leroy “Zeke” Wetzler. A private inurnment will be held on May 26 at Comstock Cemetery. Arrangements han- dled by Andreasons. S T O U T- J a m e s “Jimmy” Alan Stout, 65 of Eugene, Oregon passed away May 3, 2018. He was born April 18, 1953, in Cottage Grove, OR to Paul and Betty (Hein) Stout. Jimmy attended Cottage Grove, High School and then joined the U.S. Marine Corp. He later was a forklift driver for Bohemia Lumber for 11 years and then received his CDL and purchased his own truck in 1995, becoming a business owner of Stout Truck- ing. Jimmy enjoyed jockeying, dune bug- gys, motorcycles, rid- ing the Oregon Dunes, carpentry and garden- ing. He married Patri- cia Ann Pruitt on Dec. 23, 1981, in Eugene, OR. Jimmy is survived by daughter Jessica Stout, Cottage Grove, OR, daughter Theresa Dessaso, Ellicott City, MD, daughter Erika Pierce, Sacramento, CA, son Warren Nau- mann, Sebastopol, CA, sister Billie Jean Allison, Eu- gene, OR and 3 grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Henry Frank Stout. No services are planned at this time. Arrange- ments by Smith-Lund- Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, OR 97424. C A R E Y- E i l e e n Winifred “Winnie” Carey of Cottage Grove died on April 30, 2018, of cancer. She was 94. She was born on Sept. 29, 1923, in Dorrance, Kansas, to parents Charles Al- bert and Eunice Estelle (Parker) Gilbreth. She attended high school through the 10th grade. Winnie married Ches- ter E. Spencer in Olathe, Kan- sas. She later married Charles R. Carey, also in Olathe, Kansas. She CASTO-Robert Lee Casto of Springfi eld, OR died May 5 at the age of 75. He was born on April 12, 1943 in Eugene, OR to parents Marion B. and Virginia (Steinmetz) Casto. He graduated from Crow High School. Robert was a small engine mechanic for Howards Lawn and Garden. He later was a self-employed logger owner/operator, work- ing for various logging operations. He was a Eileen Carey 1923-2018 worked in Home Care Nursing, and accom- plished any task she was given. Her fi rst job was sorting eggs. She enjoyed bowling, writing letters to family and friends, and working cross- word puzzles.
