The Emerald Valley Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Asso- ciation will be having its Christ- mas Party (replacing the normal meeting for December) on Mon- day, Dec. 12 at the Springfi eld Elks Lodge, 1701 Centennial Blvd. Dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person at the door. OHA is Oregon’s largest non- profi t conservation organization dedicated to wildlife, wildlife habitat and hunter’s rights. OHA has 25 chapters throughout the LORANE COUNTRY NEWS they move forward. A full list- ing of the projects can be found on the website, www.cal.or.us. Crow’s annual basketball alumni games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10. This year they hope to add women’s alumni with at least four teams. No graduate is too young or too old, and if interest- ed, participants are asked to let Marissa Cooper know, and she will put them in touch with the Booster Club. Lorane Grange enjoyed fun and food at its taco dinner and bingo night. The next dinner and bingo will be in January. The Rural Arts Council Movie Night is Saturday. Dec. 10 with family night starting at 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy a delightful pre-Christmas evening watching the original, “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. Then they’re off for Thanksgiv- ing weekend until Monday, Nov. 28, when classes resume. The district thanks everyone for supporting local schools by passing the bond measure. Author's and Artist's Fair The Lane Library League will host an “Author’s and Artists Fair” on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Lane County Fairgrounds. Author Joe Blakely of Drain will be present and signing copies of his book on the Drain Black Sox, and Sox players from the 1958 semipro championship team including Dan Luby, Stan Dmochowsky and holiday sing-along will add to the evening. Everyone is invited to join the grangers for their annual Christ- mas Potluck Dinner and Open House on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Lorane Grange. Meat, potatoes, dressing, gravy, and beverages will be provided by grangers. Guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Lorane Commu- nity Christmas Baskets to be de- livered on Dec. 17. Boxes are up in all Lorane organizations. Coming up at Crow-Apple- gate Church of the Nazarene will be a Food for Lane County Food Pantry with several dates for those needing food: Nov. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m.; Dec. 1 from 9 a.m.-noon and Dec. 15 from 9 a.m.-noon. Parents Night Out is coming! Lorane Eta Theta Rho No. 94 are hosting Free Child care so and Irv Roth will also be there to sign the book from 12 noon to 1 p.m. In all, 46 authors will be present.
