2C COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL September 28, 2016 Inclement weather and emergency procedures In the event South Lane School District is forced to close or delay opening any of its schools due to weather or other emergency, designated media sources will be contacted. For up-to-the-minute school closure/emergency information or to subscribe for automated updates please go to Flash Alerts Web page for South Lane School District. You can also follow South Lane School District on Twit- ter @SouthLane_SD and on In- stragram at SouthLaneSD South Lane School District may use an automated dialer to call and email staff and students regarding school related emer- gencies. It is important that your child's school has updated phone and email information for this to be a success. Emergency Re- lease Information If a two-hour delay is report- ed, there will be no morning kindergarten. If an elementary school is closed early or evacuated due to an emergency, every attempt will be made to contact families by phone (please make sure your child's school has all available phone numbers to reach you in an emergency). Students will not be allowed to walk home with- out a responsible adult. Bussed students will not be dropped-off at an empty house, without prior permission. Students will be kept at the safest location possible during any emergency situation and will be cared for by district staff until they are picked-up by their families. Please be prepared to show identifi cation and follow on-site check-out procedures when picking up your child. If a middle or high school is closed early or evacuated due to an emergency, regular dismissal procedures will be used. If the emergency prohibits regular procedures please listen to the radio stations above or click http://www.valleyinfo.net/ to get information on evacuation procedures. Snow or inclement weather bus schedules Drivers will attempt to run regular routes wherever safe. Bus drivers will have the option to modify their routes as needed with regard to safety and road conditions. Students of the Month BOHEMIA ELEMENTARY DARBY LADD He is a 3rd grade stu- dent in Mrs. Harris’ class. She wrote: Dar- by Ladd is an amaz- ing young man! He loves nature and the outdoors. Darby fol- lows every rule and direction and always has a positive attitude. He smiles, he reads, he laughs, he runs, he does it all! Congratulations to Darby Ladd! DORENA ELEMENTARY KATIE HENRY Katie Henry is an eight grade student at Dorena and she is our Student of the Month for many reasons. First is her EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE, second is her dedication to her school work (she actually does her homework, willingly!), and third is for her amazingly positive attitude. She is always willing to help anyone. She is there for her friends and brings sunshine and good feelings to everyone around her. THAT is why Katie Henry is our Student of the Month. Th is is Emma’s fi rst year at London School in Ms. Henderson’s class. She is a real stand out kind of kid. Emma is always following directions and listening. She is helpful and kind to others as well. Emma has been setting a great example in PE and received the Noble Knight Award last month from her PE Teacher. She is polite, respectful, works hard, asks great questions, and never complains about anything. Her positive attitude rubs off on the other students and is greatly appreciated. We are proud to have Emma here at London School! As a 4thgrader, Kanyon is eager to learn and puts forth his best eff ort each day. He is a member of the Latham Student Council where he helps plan school wide activities. Kanyon sets a good example for others by working hard, being responsible and kind. Great eff ort, Kanyon! Congratulations!! Presly always does her best and it shows in the qual- ity of her work. She is an excellent reader and writ- er. She is a great role model for her classmates.
