Dennis Boan, a 29-year-old tav-
ern owner from Redmond, is the
new manager and part-owner of the
Hidden Valley Golf Club in Cot-

Mr. Boan said Monday that he
and Dick and Bernadette Borchers

took over its operation effective
Sept. 3.
The new owner declined to say
how much money was involved
in the purchase. The property was
owned by Stella Morrell of Sagi-
naw.
Mr. Boan, a native of Yoncalla,
will live in Cottage Grove and
manage the golf club. He said he
sold his Redmond tavern earlier
this year.

Mr. Boan said no fi rm ideas are
ready on the development plans.
But he said the property might be
used for homes, townhouses or
condominiums.
Also being considered, Mr. Boan
said, are plans to recondition the
club’s sprinkler system and an ef-
fort to provide storage space so

golfers may keep their private golf
carts at the club.
“Eventually, I would like to re-
model the upstairs. We have a
problem catering to banquets now,”
Boan said.
But for the time being at least,
business at the golf course will go
ahead as normal.

business, will continue to live in
Salem.
The sale involved about 70 acres
of property, which contains the
nine-hole golf course and club
house and restaurant facility.
Mr. Boan said the new owners do
not anticipate making any changes
in operations immediately.
“I’m new at this,” explained Mr.
Boan, “I’m going to take six months
and run it just like it has been.”
The new owner said Harvey
Hixson, the club’s golf pro, will
continue in that capacity. And Mr.
Boan said he plans “no changes” in
the club’s personnel.
Items the new owners do plan to
consider include a major subdivi-
sion property not being used for the
golf course. Mr. Boan said the new
owners believe there from 20-25
lots available for development.
