Staff hearing tests
Last Monday, 44 City em-
ployees from the Police Depart-
ment, Middlefi eld Golf Course,
Utilities, Building Maintenance,
Shop, Water, and Wastewater
received hearing tests. Em-
ployees in job classifi cations
within these City function areas
are routinely exposed to loud
or repetitive noise. City poli-
cy requires employees to use
hearing protection when work-
ing in loud or repetitive noise
environments. Annual hear-
ing tests create a baseline level
for each employee that can be
monitored for any signifi cant
changes.

Vehicle and
equipment repair
and maintenance
With the close of the FY
15-16 budget, it is interesting
to note what the City spends
on vehicle and equipment re-
pair and maintenance services
during a fi scal year. The City
Shop repairs and maintains ve-
hicles and equipment for all
City departments. Total equip-
ment and vehicle repair costs,
for Fiscal Year 2015-2016, were
$72,845. This amount was gen-
erated by a total of 303 repair
orders. During the previous
Fiscal Year (FY2014-2015),
total vehicle repair costs were
$69,275 for a total of 277 repair
orders.
