LORANE COUNTRY NEWS BY LIL THOMPSON For the Sentinel We have hanging baskets and color bowls. I will continue to ask people to be very observant as they drive. A couple of days ago, we came around a corner in Lorane to see two boys on the edge of the road riding a bike and a scooter. It was in a shaded area, and neither had helmets. Fortunately, they were in the opposite lane, and I saw them. So, just be aware of every- thing around you. Neighbors and friends are wel- come every Thursday to the Rebekah Lodge for lunch. Lunch is served at noon, but many come early to visit. Those who plan on attending and are able are asked to call 551-729-3330 so they have a head count. It’s usu- ally called senior lunch, but you don’t have to be a senior to enjoy the food and fun. Usually, they play bingo af- ter lunch. The hours at the Lorane Deli are 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It may seem early, but fall sports sign-ups are Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. This is a mandatory meeting for all parents and students playing fall sports. On Aug. 10, there will be sports physi- cals starting at 10 a.m. Wishing everyone a very safe and Happy Fourth of July. Celebrate carefully, but have fun.
