Kick-off Event! – 40+ students
stayed after school on the early
release day to help prepare for
London’s offi cial CATCH Kick-
off. On Wednesday, February
10th, London held its offi cial
“Grand Opening” for the physi-
cal fi tness and nutrition pro-
gram. The afternoon included
an informational piece that in-
formed parents of the purpose
of the program and the best
practices on which the program
is based. The remainder of the
day included Nutrition BINGO,
healthy snacks provided by our
middle school foods elective
class and Harvest of the Month,
and some fun GO! activities di-
rected by our PE teacher Reed
Levings. We capped off the day
with a raffl e that included a Fit-
bit, Hydrofl ask, and two yoga
mats. All-in-all, about 75 people
attended and 100% had a great
time!

All Stars: In addition to
recognizing our student of the
month, we also commend a
larger group of kids at Lincoln
called All-Stars. Each month
there is a theme, and staff mem-
bers choose students who dem-
onstrate that theme. The students
get their names read on the an-
nouncements, receive a certifi -
cate, and also get a fun party at
the end of the day. This is a way
for us to show appreciation for
lots of kids who are doing great
things every day. Check out
some pictures from our latest
group, they were recognized for
their kindness towards others.
Schedule Update: As you
probably know, our leader-

ship team is working on creat-
ing a new schedule for Lincoln
Middle School students for next
school year. We have primarily
been looking at one schedule,
which is a version of a block
schedule but allow students to
have math, language arts, and PE
every day. We also have another
schedule to consider now. It is a
6 period day and provides more
instructional time for all aca-
demic classes. We will fi nalize
our choice and start moving for-
ward with the transition before
spring break. It is taking a lot of
work and cooperation among all
our staff, but in the end we will
have something that is great for
kids, so it will be worth it.
