Nov. 4 Citizen Assist, Gateway Blvd A reporting person advised her fi ve year old son told his teacher that he was going to shoot her and got suspended. The reporting person requested an offi cer to counsel her son to show him the error of his ways. Vicious Dog, 13th St. A caller advised that a neigh- bors dog was bitten by another dog in the roadway in front of the residence. Offi cers on scene provided the victim and her dog a courtesy transport to the vet- erinary clinic for the treatment of her dog. Ambulance, Samuel Dr. An 11 year old female was attacked by two dogs that are currently running at large. The dogs were located at the top of Samuel Drive. One dog was tasered but managed to escape. Nov. 5 Suspicious Subject, Main St. A reporting person advised that a subject threatened to shoot him while traveling on the I5 southbound. Offi cers contacted both parties, the reporting per- son was determined the actual aggressor and both parties were counseled. Nov. 6 Criminal Mischief, CGHS A vehicle parked on Harrison on Oct. 31 was egged and then damaged again on Nov. 2 by a pumpkin. The additional dam- age consisted of six to seven round paint scrapes on the driv- er’s side. Currently there is so suspect info. Reckless Driving, 13th & Washington A call advised of a male sub- ject coming out of one of the apartments at the location. The subject got into a white Honda two-door car and may have struck the fence and then struck the curb in front of the location. The maximum membership for the YAC is 17, so there is still room for four more youth to join with the YAC for the 2015- 16 year. Any youth interested should contact the City Manag- er’s offi ce for details. The YAC discussed issues in the community and are explor- ing ideas to be a part of helping with developing the sense of community and improving their understanding of local govern- ment. Last year, the Public Works Department collected 94 dump truck loads, or 940 cubic yards, of leaves from City streets. The total cost to the City for pro- viding this service last year, in labor, equipment, and fuel, was $11,705. Drinking Water Protection Plan panel presentation Last Monday, Public Works Director Jan Wellman partici- pated in a panel presentation highlighting the city’s Drinking Water Protection Plan and two- phase implementation strategy. The panel presentation was part of the three-day 2015 Gath- ering for Conservation confer- ence held at the Valley River Inn in Eugene. Other panel participants in- cluded Jacquie Fern from DEQ, Guy Sievert with E-System Services, and Pam Reber with the Coast Fork Willamette Wa- tershed Council. Pam and Guy were hired by the City to de- velop the phase one and phase two implementation strategies for the City’s drinking water protection plan. The City received two sepa- rate grants totaling $38,250 to fund this effort. The Gathering for Conservation event was a fully integrated joint conference planned by the Oregon Conser- vation Partnership, offering pro- gramming for watershed coun- cils, conservation districts, and statewide agency partners over three days. Food for Fines at the library November is Food for Fines month at the Cottage Grove Public Library. Patrons are wel- come to bring in two to three items for every $1 of fi nes for- given, up to $10. All food collected will be do- nated to Cottage Grove Com- munity Sharing. Recommended items include: macaroni and cheese, hamburg- er helper, tuna and other canned meat, peanut butter, canned vegetables, stew, chili, soup and cereal.
