6A COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL May 6, 2015 B EYOND THE G ROVE Impactful news from Lane County and surrounding communities Congratulations! O regon State Police say they are continuing the investigation into Sunday afternoon’s fatal motor- cycle crash on Highway 42S at mile- post 7.5 near Bandon. According to OSP Sergeant Dave Aydelotte, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup stopped on Lampa Lane attempted to pull out onto Highway 42S but turned into the path of an oncoming motorcycle that was westbound. The motorcycle, a 2006 Honda CBR, swerved but was unable to avoid the pickup and im- pacted it behind the driver’s side door near the front of the bed. The driver of the motorcycle, identifi ed as William Love, 46, of Coquille, was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. The female pas- senger on the motorcycle, identifi ed as 34-year-old Carrie Murray, of Port- land, was transported to an area hos- pital and later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Police say the driver of the Ford pickup, identifi ed as Shelly Corbit, 47, of Cottage Grove, was not injured. She had not been cited by press time Monday, but police say charges are pending. The passenger in the pickup was not injured. ballot: Lane County Lane County Elections is reminding voters to re- view both sides of their ballots before casting their votes. “Once a ballot is returned, it cannot be amended or recast,” said Lane County Clerk Cheryl Betschart. “Be sure to fl ip the ballot over, as some ballot styles have measures and candidates that will appear on the back side of the ballot, depending on where the person is registered to vote.” If you are a registered voter anywhere in Oregon and have changed your address, The County says there is still time to update voter registration to a voter's current address and receive a ballot. Voters may check the status of their ballot and voter reg- istration at www.lanecounty.org/elections. Voters with questions can contact Lane County Elections at 541-682-4234.
