he search for an airplane that went
missing from Creswell’s Hobby
Field last week came to an end Friday with
an announcement from the Linn County
Sheriff’s Offi ce that wreckage had been
located outside Harrisburg.
Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley report-
ed that the County’s Search and Rescue
team, with air assistance from the Army
National Guard, has located the wreckage
of a plane on Mt. Tom, a heavily wooded
piece of property operated by the Bureau
of Land Management about nine miles
east of Harrisburg.

cue personnel were called to a
report of a structure fi re at 42 Scott
Lane in Creswell at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Crews arrived to fi nd smoke coming
from the residence and the occupant
of the home in the front yard. They
say that, as they approached, the
occupant ran back into the burning
home and barricaded himself in a
rear room.
