Three men were burned to death in a forest fire in a lumber camp two miles west of Leona yesterday. The fire was set by a dynamite blast. By a veering o f the wind the men were surrounded by the flames and were unable to es cape. The men burned to death were John P. Durfee, Albert Saflev and George Hughes. Hiram Applegate and several others were badly burned and several families and their homes barely escaped. A considerable quantity of camp equipment and logging ma- h.iiery was destroyed, including three donkey engines. A large force of men was required in getting the fire under control.
