many a girl a life of misery.

Commercial clubs and civic bodies of every kind are shining e x

probably be thus until the end of time or a little longer.
A short time ago a rod and gun club was organized in Cottage
Grove. Already a carload o f trout fry has been received here because
o f the activities of this organization and because of the protection to
fish and game such a body promises. A second car is expected this
fall, making three carloads planted in the Cottage Grove streams this
year.
There are probably some couple hundred or more who derive a
certain amount of pleasure from angling for the gamy beauties which
inhabit the Grove streams, yet the membership of the rod and gun club
is only some thirty, and some of these are men who do not whip a
stream once a year.
The difference between the number o f disciples there are o f Izaak
Walton and the number o f members there are of the rod and gun club,
