Do Not Spend Amount of Money for
School Work Required
by Law.
The law provides that each school
district in the state shall expend at
least |3<M) for school teachers, wages
each year and if districts do not re­
ceive that much money from the county
school fund or from a special tax the
county superintendent Hhall report a
list of such districts having such a de­
ficiency and the county court shall
make a special assessment for such
districts up to five mills. It seems
that there are 53 such districts in Lane
county this year fur which the county
court will have to make such a special
levy.
