Instead of devoting the spring training senson to trying out new material and waiting till May to shape a team, the m anager, under the new system, will know e xactly whom he wants nnd whom he doesn't want. what each man can do, and here he could place every one o f the recru its I he desires to keep. T h e spring season i would then lie devoted to practice and j team work. T h e club could open the | season In shape and ready to play. F e w clubs have less than a dozen recruits In the spring.
