Mitchell and Hermann were indicted jointly and are charged with having conspired with all the defendants heretofore in dicated to defraud the government out of land situated in township 11, South, range 7, East. Sorenson is indicted for having offered a bribe of $5,000 to Dis trict Attorney Hall on March 28th, last, when the indictment against the conspirators who were convicted iu the recent trial was pending in the Federal court. - ---------- — THK MITCHELL INDICTMENT. It alleges that John H. Mitchell and Binger Hermann did, on Janu ary 2, 1002, unlawfully and felon iously conspired together and with each other and with S. A. D Puter, II orace G. McKinley, D. \Yr. Tarpley, Emma L. Watson, Salmon B. Ormsby, Clark E. Loomis, William H. Davis and others to defraud the government of tho UnitedjStates out of a portion of its public lands, situated in township 11, South of range 7, East, by means of forged and false affidavits and fictitious persons, and that in the furtherance of such conspiracy S.
