M b u r l i n o , Postmaster General Carranza is probably an old villian. a murder and assas- sasin o f the most depraved char acter, yet no one will accuse him o f being a fool. The recent mur der o f nineteen Americans whom he was expected to afford protec tion would have caused the rulers o f great empires to tremble. In the seclusion o f his bedchamber. President Wilson would have con cocted note after note bristling with classic words and high sound ing phrases calculated to over whelm the average aboriginee. But not so with Carranza. He promptly “ disavows” the act, laying all blame on his one time fellow bandit, but now arch enemy Francisco Villa and orders that the said Villa be murdered in cold blood, even as were the nineteen misguided Americans at Ysbel. This brutal method of reprisal and revenge appears to be pleasing in the sight o f our lord and master, Woodrow, who pats him on the hack and admonishes him that as he has been faithful over a few things, shall he be made ruler over many things. Thus has this wily villian extricated himself from a very serious predicament and rid himself of a very danger ous enemy. But the blood o f the murderd Americans cries up to W ilson and he heeds them not. F o r e s * s ra B e g in n in g t o l i n e j Dalla*, 0:00 A. M., 6:15 P. M Mrs. J. D. The school building at Rickreall was totally destroyed by fire Monday evening. The building and furniture was valued at $5.- 600 and had an insurance of $4,000. A defective flue, is said to be the cause o f thejfire. Fire was discovered above the furnace about 2:30 Monday afternoon but was thought to have been extin guished. About 7:00o'clock that evening flames burst forth and before help could be obtained it was impossible to save it. The gymnasium and equipment were in a generate building and were saved. The structure was a four room building o f modern school house style and was built about three years ago. Arrangements have been made to continue the school and it is presumed that the building will be rebuilt as soon as the weather will permit.
