MARTIN LARSEN UNDERGOES OPERATION Martin Larsen returned to Enter prise' Tuesday afternoon from Hot Lake where some days ago he and Mrs. Larsen went for the latter's health. ENJOYS SPLENDID PARTY Mrs. Chambers entertained her Sunday school class very pleasant ly at the M. E. parsonage Thurs day ' evening of last week. In the matter of the proposed road by John McDonald and others: This matter came on to be heard at this ttae on report of the Board of County Road Viewers! for a sec ond reading as- provided by law, and said report of the Board of County Road Viewers having been . now publicly read to open court, and It appearing to the Court that said board of County Road View ers report favorably thereon and recommend that said proposed Toad be established as a county road and be declared a public hfghway of Wallowa County, Oregon, and all the files and records of said proceedings having been submitted to the District Attorney, who has aiviaed this Court not to the legal It of said proceedings, and after the Court fully considered the matter, It Is hereby considered and order ed that said proposed road bo and the same be hereby continued. In the matter of the proposed road petitioned for by O. F. Mays and others: Now, at this time the Court con siders the matter of allowing the proposed road, petitioned for by O. F. Mays and others, andi t appear ing to the .Court that .the District Attorney has reported favorably thereon and that all damages have been paid, and after the Court ful ly considering the same. The said road was surveyed under our directions, andi the ftame was conspicuously marked throughout, the corners- and distances thereon noted, and all trees on the Knej of said road were marked on each of the sides thereof corresponding with the direction of said Toad, with three notches cut through, the bark and one' inch Into the -.wood, and all trees, adjacent to the said lino of said road were plainly blaz ed on the side facing said toad. The' beginning and termination of said road and the termination of each time and intermediate points have bean marked in the manner provided by law, as wllll more fully appear by the certified return of the survey of said road, which 1 hereunto attached and made a part of this, report. That in our opinion the saildi pro posed road should be established for the following reasons: It a needed by 'the traveling pub lic and by settlers living adjacent to the proposed roadbeing for them the most practical and much tlie- shortest distance to the rail road and to a poatofflce. No damages allowed. We consider that the lands of the George Palmer Lumber company, through which the proposed road pasties, will te rendered no le&a valuable by reason of the establish ment of the road.
