Concert Was a Most
Successful Affair

.-. The concent given Saturday night
at the opera house by home talent,
under the very able direction of A.
J. Boehmer, was a glad surprise to
everyone in attendance. Mr. Boeh
mer had given his time and careful
work to the training of the big
choruses and to several other feat
ures of the concert, and had assumed
the responaltllJtty for its success.
It proved such a success as to ee
' lection of takiDt and as to perform-
an that Mr. Boehmer has the grat
. ltude of every one who heard the
program,
This Is so much In manifestation
, that just now Mr. Boehmer 1 being
importuned by many to put on "Pin
afore", made up of home talent.
That he will consent to do to, or
will not consent to do so, Is not de
termined at present.
The concert from the opening cho
rus to the close was probably the
best array of local talent ever staged
by Enterprise. The choruses held
their volume without losing their ex
treme sweetness, and the special
number of the program, such as
solos and duets, were encored, In
every particular, as also were -the
readings.
Those who kindly gave their time
to the mualcale may welt feel doubly
paid by the success of k and by) the
large attendance which It drew.

singularly free from errors, and made
our own boys play ball from start

a score too much for the visitors.

County Officials Wear Happyi Smites
and Stcjp More Briskly Than

If you see a gentleman walking
down any street in Enterprise, wear
ing the sort of smile that "won't
come off," put it down and keep
R down, that he Is a county official.
For every county official la happy
from this time forth. The various
county offices have been moved Into
the new court house, and although
the new furniture has not yet ar
rived, the officials are happy any
way.
The new court bouse la enough to
make anybody happy. She Is what
the parlance of the day would call
a "humdinger" a humdinger being
everything that could be desired' In
a new court house. And everybody
Is glad to note that stage in Wal
lowa county's development which Is
marked by so substantial a public
building as this new court bouse.
Deputy Sheriff Crow was the first
official encountered by the press
representative on entering the new
county building. He looked ten years
younger than when down In. the old
building. But before the press rep
resentative could remark upon this
merry change, Sheriff Marvin appear'
