Timber for matches has been found to exist In abundance In Southern and Eastern Oregon. Ia many places matches are the mala product of enormous mills, while sashes' and doors and ties are by-piVducts. The famous Warner valley In. Lake county Is to have 150,000 acres brought under Irrigation. This means that sagebrush plains of no value will be worth hundreds of ' dollars an acre by the presence of illustrious and home building people, the element that makes all land values. Corvallis is to have more public lights. It pays to light up. Any live town that has electric lighting plants available should do its best. Instead of taxing the merchants, how ever, the empty lot gamblers and speculators' should be made to come forward. There are probably from 1,000 up of nice large empty lots in Corvallis that are assessed at half their value, yet the better lit and police! and the more progressive the city the more they "hlste" their trices.
